Moses Laboy is known as the creative beverage and cocktail mind behind several bars/eateries throughout NYC. He has been credited as one of the pioneers who brought back the cocktail scene to Harlem NYC via the creation of the beverage program at celebrity Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s Harlem hotspots Red Rooster and Ginny’s.
A born, bred, bilingual native New Yorker. Moses Laboy started his NYC restaurant career in 1992 as a busser and quickly moved up the ranks to server, head bartender and management.
Moses has enjoyed success by consulting beverage programs for celebrity chefs Marcus Sammuelson, Elizabeth Falkner, Annie Wayt, Alex Urena, restaurateur Donatella Arpaia and Chef Alfred Portale. Moses has created cocktail programs for many NYC restaurants including Gotham Bar & Grill, Le Colonial, Los Americanos, Red Rooster and Donatella. Moses is a member of The Court Of Master Sommeliers and B.A.R. certified.
Moses has had the honor of creating and serving cocktails to two U.S. Presidents. (President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton.)
Moses has been published in the 75th anniversary cocktail book “Mr. Boston” as well as Gary Reagan’s “101 best cocktails of the year” three consecutive years (2012-2014). Moses has enjoyed much media attention.
Moses is a featured Iconoclast Bartender on the Sundance channel, The Wendy Williams Show, HGTV’s celebrity holiday homes and he starred in the cocktail culture documentary “Hey Bartender”. He is currently featured as one of the top ten mixologists of 2015 by Timeout NY.
