Nicolas Torres is a San Francisco native and has been bartending in San Francisco for the past 10 years. He has gained experience in all types of bars from neighborhood, dive, cocktail, and fine dining establishments.
Currently Torres resides as the Bar Director at Lazy Bear SF. His program highlights both wild and farmed local produce alongside rare, unique, and small-batch spirits. He favors candid distillers bold enough to tell a story rich with the kind of information and details that guide drinkers to identifiable distinctive flavors in the glass. Torres’ close collaboration with the kitchen at Lazy Bear yields both precise technique, and unique flavors with a sense of place, that are seldom encountered in a bar program. In addition to his bartending and R&D roles at Lazy Bear, he is an accomplished artist and woodworker, and built his own Lazy Bear bar in his shop.
