The Espresso Martini is believed to have been created in the 1980’s by London bartender Dick Bradsell. Based on the request of a well-known model, he shook up vodka, fresh espresso, coffee liqueur and sugar into a frothy mix. He named the concoction a Vodka Espresso. In the late 1990’s, the drink skyrocketed in popularity and evolved into today’s Espresso Martini – the addition of Frangelico gives it a perfect nutty twist.
